AHA PALS Provider, Renewal Classes

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) classes are classroom, video-based, instructor-led courses using simulated pediatric emergencies to teach the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, CPR AED, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team communication.

The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes.  Students who successfully complete the Pediatric Advanced Life Support Course will receive a PALS Provider course Completion Card valid for two years.  

Classroom video based instructor-led coursesPALS Training Includes:

  • Key changes in pediatric advanced life support (PALS), reflecting the new science from the 2010 American Heart Association Guidelines for Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC)
  • 1- and 2-rescuer child CPR and AED
  • 1- and 2-rescuer infant CPR
  • Life threatening ECG Rhythm disturbances and electrical therapy
  • Management of respiratory emergencies
  • Vascular access including intraosseous cannulation
  • Resuscitation team dynamics
  • Cardiovascular, respiratory and shock case discussions and simulations
